If it is a folder right click on it, then next to the grayed out application name click on the create button to create a webapp. Solution: Go to your IIS, right click on the Virtual Directory and select Convert To Application. I solved it by adding them to the project (right click, Add). When you try to load your application, you get the Parser Error message.
