Although I prefer not to use the Reader (using Preview instead), I just opened a .pdf and tried the Preview button in the print dialog. They had no newer updates than 8.1.6 unless you want to buy Acrobat 9 and then update it a couple of times. I installed it, and then 8.1.4. In this window, at the bottom left, is a button that sends you to the OS and selects the Prefs file. If you apply them in this order, you shouldn't have a problem. biloxi sun heralddavid rossmiller billy butle.

Adobe is a third party application, so I'd guess they need to support the function. Then it hit me that I'd done all those updates but lost them when I installed 8 from the disk to the iMac.
