Cannot Open Consolekit Dbus

I've added a file in /etc/init.d/wolconfig to configure wol on boot time. Do I need to install something to be ru_RU.utf8 supported? daemonrebel (irishphoenix) wrote on 2011-10-15: #30 I do have vmware installed, I also have playonlinux installed, gametree, and virtual box. Daniel Fletcher (xyzzyman) wrote on 2011-09-24: #15 Had same issue after 11.04>11.10 BETA 2 upgrade. http://scriptkeeper.net/cannot-open/cannot-open-consolekit-session-dbus.html

A search of Bugzilla did not turn this failure but the were several that maybe related. The X-ORG is fine, the 'restart to finish updates' message is gone and the 'Waiting for network configuration' is gone as well. Comment 7 Orion Poplawski 2012-02-21 18:44:42 EST kdm in debug mode outputs: arguments to ck_connector_get_cookie() were incorrect, assertion "connector != NULL" failed in file ck-connector.c line 583. Really a huge bug.

RawwrBag (sthaber) wrote on 2011-10-14: #24 @daemonrebel: The following worked for me (borrowed from post #9): You need to (i) create directories /run and /run/lock, (ii) move contents of /var/run into Migrated yesterday from 11.04 (which worked perfecly !) to this rather crappy and unstable 11.10 (there are really plenty of bugs in this release, including this severe one). i was really stuck RawwrBag (sthaber) wrote on 2011-10-14: #20 For me, this problem was caused by VMWare Workstation 8 leaving a mount point of some sort in /var/run.

Comment 3 nucleo 2012-02-13 19:25:11 EST ConsoleKit is installed on las nightly CD but there is other error now: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/2475/consolekit.png Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable yo open session: Unable to get Looks like consolekit has changed its dbus interface, as the service "org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager" doesn't exist indeed.

I even got the error when I tried to dpkg-reconfigure dbus. Maybe someone made the same experiences. (In fact I don't understand the reason for this, because IMHO the output of ps -e|grep /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon should be the same as ps -e|grep console-kit-dae https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/49676/ This happens since version dbus_1.4.12-4ubuntu2_amd64.

I'm kicking myself for upgrading so soon now. This seemed to help fix it; Code: sudo dpkg --configure -a Then rerun the update commands. nandha (andalmagan) wrote on 2011-10-16: #47 #9 works excellent in my case Thanks so much, everything back now Henrique Sant'Anna (hsantanna) wrote on 2011-10-16: #48 got this error after upgrading from Yes, it works.

I implemented fix #24, as described above. Given the above, can I really move the latter set of sub-directories (/var/run) over to the former (/run)? I assume this is some recent change. navigate here Michael -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth? Born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) but now happily married and settled in the great San Francisco. This is pretty severe bug, even though system does seem to eventually boot. In my case the update that was supposed to handle this transition didn't work.
