Cannot Open Bayes Databases Lock Failed
Message #48 received at [email protected] (full text, mbox, reply): From: Greg Kochanski
The only real difference I see is that after wiping bayes_*, SA didn't start using bayes_journal, which always was used before. With this workaround all my SA R/W deadlocks have gone away. Comment 4 Bart Schaefer 2006-06-28 00:08:23 UTC This still happens with 3.0.6, though more rarely. Note that no tokens have expired even though the last expiry ran today and there are over 4 million tokens in the db. 0.000 0 2 0 non-token data: bayes db Look at this output: [[emailprotected] ~]# ps aux | grep -i spam root 12498 0.0 0.0 3908 716 pts/0 S+ 20:00 0:00 grep -i spam There is something that should be How do I remove the database? The above line is causing your problems, and it's fundamentally not needed when using MailScanner.
Yes, have now done this, but the document referenced is cut down too much from the original, and has several problems. falko, Mar 20, 2009 #2 klausengelmann New Member Thanks for your reply falko !!! Use this one instead: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/spamassassin/trunk/sql/bayes_mysql.sql I'm also having problems with the AWL instructions from that document. You might be able to use a different locking method (see the docs), but I am unsure if that will help or not.
That's only true when you run spamassassin as root. Only after I manually remove the file does sa-learn recover and proceed. I asked that someone puts it on the website next to the broken(!) db-to-text.pl but no one seems to care. find this Acknowledgement sent to Duncan Findlay
If you're suggesting that spamd shouldn't be logging this error message to syslog, you're welcome to have spamd log to another output using the -s or --syslog option to spamd. Does spamassassin then recreate the database files? Ss Mar04 0:59 /usr/bin/perl -w /usr/sbin/sqlgrey -d apache 3780 0.2 0.6 71436 49708 ? Are they happening with the same frequency?
what does the output of sa-learn --force-expire -D look like? >Emails now take nearly 30 seconds to process through spamassassin, see the >maillog below. Because I am running out of resources I am ready to investigate the VMWARE image available. Thanks falko, [[emailprotected] ~]# ps gauwx clamav 2938 0.1 2.2 223024 185464 ?
