Cannot Obtain Lock On /media/.hal-mtab
I found http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...a.mtab-694621/ this post and thought it might be related. AND Even after I connected a CD-ROM on IDE Port ... google .hal-mtab for more info on its functions. It did the job, and was simple. http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16391
for me the problem was basically a conflict with autofs. the mount point was: /media /etc/auto.nas --timeout=60 --ghost i changed it to /net /etc/auto.nas --timeout=60 --ghost hope this helps someone cheers Adv Reply February 23rd, 2010 #6 *Boots* View Profile to check for currently mounted partition or device, issue # df -ah Try to stop haldaemon service and do the mount thing, see if you have the same error.
