If that doesn't help, it might be worth sending the entire Microsoft Messenger application in the Applications folder to the trash, and reinstalling it and Reviver. Reply Connie Delaney August 4, 2014 at 8:05 am Unfortunately, the way security works is that your recovery options have to be set before you need to recover the account. till I decided to download all the windows update and all my notebook drivers from HP website and installed them on my computer, then all is working fine :) Add comment I know my own router has entered a state where its behavior was erratic, and a reboot resolved several issues. I don't have any proxies set up, could it be I have the wrong port set up?

I just ended them all to ensure I was killing any hanging process. Once reported, our moderators will be notified and the post will be reviewed. It apparently has something to do with their incessant "security updates" I imagine; and would explain why it ONLY affects THEIR programs. There are ways to block URLs in IE, but doing so will block them from all other programs as well.
Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. I typically give it a day. And Voila'. How long to wait?
